Absa

We offer a full range of usability services to ABSA Mobile. From qualitative usability research documentation, strategy input through to User Interface specifications, development support and UAT for mobile products being launched. From the initial research conducted we established the market landscape of mobile banking within South Africa and have enabled the ABSA team to plan for phased changes to their mobile banking portal. We have been envolved in various mobile product developments giving key input on the product strategy through to the visualisation and implementation of these products.

ABSA interim mobile site - absa.mobi

One of the key findings from our initial research we established that many customers assumed the ABSA.mobi URL is the address for the ABSA portal. This was not the case and therefore we needed to create a quick site that will hold all the ABSA mobile products under a single site consolidating the various mobile sites they have. The deadline for the site was particularly vital and the site had to be completed within a month. This is an interim quickwin site that will be re-designed over the next couple of months.

Competitor qualitative usability testing

ABSA wanted to understand the mobile market landscape of South Africa. They wanted to compare their product offering against its competitors. They also wanted a deep understanding of their customers across all their mobile channels; WIG, WAP and USSD. We tested 56 users across the three platforms, which enabled us to understand the behaviours across channels as well as how adoption across channels could occur. 108 hours of video footage was gathered, analysed and documented into a report which has been greatly absorbed into their roadmap for this year and their strategy for the next 2 years.
